Dary’s Village Guesthouse
Dary began her career in hospitality in the Santepheap (Peace) Hotel in Kratie town in 2001. She went on to work in various cafes and restaurants, supporting her own education and her family. She even worked as a motodop driver! In 2012 she moved to Kampong Cham and ran there the ‘Lazy Mekong Daze’ restaurant on the riverside for more than 10 years. Dary moved back to her home village in 2023: ‘Dary’s Village Guesthouse & Restaurant’ was built in 2023-2024 on a plot of land bought from her grandmother. The business opened in August 2024.
We are directly on the Mekong River, our neighbours live mainly from fishing and from agriculture. Our guests get a unique and close-up view of traditional Khmer village life, while enjoying our comfortable, modern rooms. Dary is always pleased to explain about the village and the people who live here, and what it was like growing up here in the days before electricity and mains water. You will learn many interesting things about Cambodia!
We are 2km from Kratie Town, it’s easy to get there on one of our bicycles or motos, or we can call you a tuk-tuk, or many guests enjoy the walk. We look forward to seeing you!
